Rex George Kinser

GORMAN - Rex George Kinser was born September 9, 1915 in Marble Falls, Texas. He was the sixth of eight children born to Andrew and Bessie Kinser all with the name starting with R. He was called home to his great reward on Monday, May 8, 2006 at the age of 90 1/2 years. Services will be at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday at the Higginbotham Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Speer and Denver Rainey officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery.

Rex was a peanut farmer and along with being a Kinser, which also meant being a carpenter. He loved raising a garden and loved to share his crops with friends and family.

Rex was a loving husband and father. He was an avid fox/coyote hunter and fiddle player. It was hard for him to know which music he liked best, fiddling music or the pretty music the hounds made barking while on the chase. He also loved baseball with the Texas Rangers being his beloved team. He enjoyed and loved all of his grandchildren and they loved him as well.

He will be dearly missed by all those who loved and knew him. He was not in the best of health for the last couple of years of his life, however, he never forgot how to smile or care. He is now restored, smiling and walking with his Lord Almighty. Rex was a Christian and a member of the Midway Baptist Church.

Survivors include wife Betty of the home; two daughters, Margaret Atchley of Stephenville; also three stepchildren, Dana and husband Bobby Emfinger of Eastland, Brenda Moores of Eastland and Dean Weldon of Weatherford; two brothers, Ralph Kinser of Buena Park, CA., and Richard Kinser of Gorman; 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters and two grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.
