Mrs. Lenora Mae Lewis, 92, Arcadia, La., and formerly of Lewistown, died Tuesday, September 12, 2000 at Homer Memorial Hospital in Homer, La. Born February 10, 1908 in Hurdland, she was the daughter of John Wesley and Fannie Mae Beers Sanders. She married Jesse Everett Lewis on January 20, 1927 in Brashear. He died January 11, 1972. Mrs. Lewis was a member of the Park United Methodist Church in Lewistown. Survivors include two sons, Bill Lewis and his wife Bea, Athens, La. and John Lewis and his wife Pat, Big Springs, Texas; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Henry Lewis; four sisters-in-law, Mrs. Mildred Gaus, Mrs. Elizabeth Maxwell, Mrs. Etta Mae Hutcherson and Mrs. Geraldine Smith; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter Jean Whitaker, a grandson Kevin Whitaker, a great-granddaughter and a brother Harry Sanders. Graveside funeral services wer held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 15, 2000 at the Lewistown Cemetery in Lewistown with the Rev. Rod Webster officiating. Visitation was held Thursday, September 14 after 4 p.m. with family present from 6 until 8 p.m. at Arnold's Funeral Home in Lewistown. Memorials may be made to the Park United Methodist Church of Lewistown.
