Son of Herbert Seward and Martha (Wood) Collins. Husband of Dorthea Thompson, married 1936. They moved to Wonalancet in 1941.
Seward was a graduate of Princeton University. He owned a bookstore (The American Review Bookshop in New York City) and wrote two literary journals: "The Bookman" and "The American Review". Collins was a self-proclaimed fascist and praised Hitler and Mussolini, attacking both communism and capitalism in his writings and interviews.
