Mae Ellen Sanders, 89, died Dec. 2, 2010, at the Lynmoore in Fort Pierce. She was born in Pearson, Ga., and lived in Fort Pierce for more than 60 years. She worked in the citrus industry for a number of years. Before retiring, she also worked for the Council on Aging. She was a member of the Sunrise Tabernacle Church. Survivors include her sons, Jimmy Sanders of Fort Pierce and Jerry Sanders of Sarasota; daughters, Helen Hatcher, Beverly Thiess and Debbie Hinkle, all of Fort Pierce, and Shirley Jacobsen of Apple Valley, Calif.; sister, Sue Nell Vining; brother, Sonny Vining of Adel, Ga.; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Sanders; three sisters; and four brothers.
