Albert Lloyd York, 68, of Gholson, passed away Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010, at his residence. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Gholson, with the Rev. James Stevens officiating. Burial will follow at Gholson Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Aderhold Funeral Home.

Albert Lloyd was born in Gholson, Texas, to the late Albert Carter and Nettie Mae (Weaver) York. He attended schools in Gholson and West before graduating from West High School in 1960. He then received his HVAC Certification from Texas State Technical College. On Sept. 29, 1962, he was united in marriage to Betty Loraine Buzbee in Gholson. Albert worked in the maintenance department for the LaVega and Gholson School Districts for over 15 years, where he also served as a bus driver. He also worked for over 17 years with the National Linen Service in Ft. Worth. Albert was a member of First Baptist Church of Gholson, S.P.J.S.T. Lodge No 54 in West, and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed hunting, and collecting guns, knives, tools, and antiques. He especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Bonita York.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 48 years, Betty York, of Gholson; sons, Allan L. York and wife, Julia, of Chalk Bluff, and Jeffrey C. York, of Elm Mott; daughters, Robyn Barnes and husband, Matthew, of Chalk Bluff, and Aaron York, of Gholson; daughter-in-law, Kelly York, of Waco; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; a foster daughter, Tammy Stuart and husband, Leonard, of Valley Mills; brother, Lonnie York and wife, Paula, of Gholson; sisters, Betty Ann Atkins and husband, Lee, of Waco, Mildred Richardson and husband, Otis, and Bertha Bays, all of Axtell; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
