COLUMBIA, Mar. 1 — Thompson Lively and Isaac Gilmore went out to Bayou LaFourche this morning to catch some fish for family consumption, and after being out in the stream in a row boat for some time, Lively began to complain of feeling cold, and on going to shore, he called to Gilmore, asking him to build a fire quick, saying, "I am freezing to death." Gilmore began to build a fire at once, but Lively died in less than 30 minutes after he reached the shore.

Dr. S. H. Brown, coroner was notified of the death but in view of the facts surrounding the death, he did not deem it necessary to hold an inquest. The deceased owned a farm on Bayou LaFourche, but lived near Biggs Point, two and a half miles west of Columbia.

He is 50 [sic 42] years old, a native of Caldwell parish, and is survived by his wife, six [sic seven] children and numerous other relatives.

Interment will be had at Welcome Home cemetery tomorrow, and Rev. H. B. Mercer of the Columbia Baptist church will conduct the funeral services.
