For King Dodd
King Dodd, well known Kaufman County farmer, passed away at his home in the Cobb community Wednesday night of last week. Funeral services were held from the Anderson-Clayton Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, with the Rev. W.R. McDonold and the Rev. Olen Brockway officiating. Interment was in the Lawrence Cemetery.
King Franklin Dodd was born in Bosque County on October 26, 1881. He came to Kaufman County as a young man and with the exception of a few years spent the remainder of his life in this section. He had lived and farmed in the Rose Hill, Chisholm, Lawrence and New Salem communities and had resided at Cobb since last August.
He was married to Miss Mary E. Stanley on June 22, 1902, and eleven children were born. One daughter preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary E. Dodd; six sons, L.B. Dodd of San Diego, California, Odell Dodd of Auzsa, California, George Dodd of Pixley, California, Ed Dodd, Robert Dodd, and Joe M. Dodd, all of Terrell; four daughters, Mrs. Alfred Dorst and Mrs. Ted Allen, both of Terrell, Mrs. Bedford Estes, of Myrtle Springs, Mrs. Arnold Tapp of Farmers Branch; twenty-one grandchildren; two great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews and other relatives.
