He was ninety-four and was born August 29, 1916 in Port Chester to the late Peter and Anna Ushkevich Karpluk.
He graduated from Port Chester High School, Class of 1934, after serving four years in the Army Air Corp during World War II, he enrolled at New York University and graduated with a BS in Business Administration in 1949.
He was married on December 21, 1946 to Frances Elias. Mrs. Karpluk died April 11, 1990.
Mr. Karpluk was a comptroller for the Metrodyne Corporation in Stamford, CT for many years and worked for several other local companies in the area. He was a member of the Port Chester High School Alumni Association, and a member of the National Association of Accountants. He was an avid gardener known in his neighborhood for his roses. He was also a avid golfer and traveler having made trips to Russia with his sons.
Mr. Karpluk is survived by his sons Richard Karpluk of Ballston Lake, NY and Kenneth Karpluk of Norwalk, CT and sister Vera Davis of Port Chester, NY.
A visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Craft Memorial Home, Inc. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at the Funeral Home.
Committal Services will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery Chapel, Hartsdale.
