From "The Minteers As I Have Known Them" by Josephine Minteer Dickinson (1961 limited-edition private printing of 200 copies), youngest and last surviving of William Minteer and Mary Nicholson's 85 grandchildren:

"Married John A. Foster. I just met John recently. Alma is dead and he makes his home with his daughter, Helen, at 201 Maple Street in Kittanning. She is a near and very dear friend of my niece, Florence Conslo."
---------------------
In 1910 he and his wife lived on a farm they were renting in Manor Township, Armstrong County, PA.

In 1920 he and Alma and their two daughters lived on a farm in Manor Township which they owned, mortgage free. Also living them was a farm helper, 14-year-old Ralph Craig.

In 1930 he and his wife and their two daughters still lived there on the farm. Their home was valued at $4500, and they had a radio.

In 1940 he and Alma and Jean lived there. The farm was valued at $9000. Jean worked as a clerk in a retail store, with an income in 1939 of $612 for 51 weeks of work.

In 1950 he lived with his daughter Helen, her husband, and their two children in the first floor apartment at 201 Maple Street in Kittanning, PA. Darl worked as a route foreman at a dairy plant.
