Born in Guymon, Okla., Feb. 3, 1918, he came to Portland from Joplin, Mo., 17 years ago and worked as a maintenance man for Davidson Baking Co. until he was disabled seven years ago.
He is survived by his widow, Madeline; five sons, Ernest E., Daniel A. and Larry J., all of Portland, Jimmy D., U.S. Navy and Garl L., Oronogo, Mo.; three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Wagner and Joyce A. Dean, both of Portland, and Mrs. Ann Ryan, China Lake, Calif., and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral will be at the Wilhelm Funeral Home, 6637 S.E. Milwaukie Ave., at 11 A.M. Monday, with private burial at Riverview Cemetery.
Remembrances may be contributions in Mr. Dean's name to the Oregon Heart Fund or to the Emphysema Fund (Oregon Lung Association).
