Viola Elizabeth Riggins Hayes, 71, of 121 Pennington Drive, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2010.
Born in Pickens, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Easter Sutherland Riggins.
Mrs. Hayes was a homemaker and member of Griffin Baptist Church.
Surviving is her husband, Odie Bertran "Bert" Hayes of the home; a daughter, Marie D. Shelton of Liberty; four sons, Thomas B. Hayes of Aiken, Tony L. Hayes, Billy D. Hayes and Troy R. Hayes, all of Pickens; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Artie Mae Grant and Annie Pawnee Moore, both of Pickens; and a brother, Donald Riggins of Dacusville.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Bobby Dale Hayes.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with burial to follow in Griffin Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home. The family will be at the home of Pawnee Moore, 139 Creekside Dr., Pickens, SC 29671.
