VIRGINIA - Graveside services for Jane K. Furtsch, 92, of Pleasant Hill will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 20, at West View Cemetery in Blacksburg, Va.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, at McCoy Funeral Home in Blacksburg.

Mrs. Furtsch died on Wednesday, April 15, 1998, at Wharton Nursing Home in Pleasant Hill.

She was born on Jan. 11, 1906, in Center County, Pa., to the late Alvin Burd and Mary Magdalene Kammerer Kline. Mrs. Furtsch was a teacher with the Pittsburgh Public Schools until 1935. She was also a homemaker and a member of the America Assoc. of University Women. Mrs. Furtsch was also active in the Girl Scouts of America and the Virginia Skyline Council in Blacksburg. She was also a volunteer with the American Red Cross Blood Bank.

Her family includes a son, Tom Furtsch of Cookeville; a daughter, Cynthia Kitchen of Virginia Beach, Va.; and four grandchildren, Alison and Christa Furtsch and Alan and Steven Kitchen.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Frank Furtsch, and three sisters, Alice Brown Kline, Martha N. Kline and Mary Magdalene Bennett.
