Beloved Citizen held in High Esteem Hugh Pride Freeman.
Services were held for Mr. Freeman 60, who succumbed Tuesday at noon, after three months illness, were held Wednesday afternoon at the Newton Funeral Chapel with Herschel Patton
assisted by Rev. George Jack officiating, Interment was in the Knights of Pythias Cemetery.
Hugh was a highly respected and widely beloved citizen who enjoyed the friendship of many people throughout this country, where he was born and reared.
Until he was unable, he was an active contractor and carpenter, many years ago finding it necessary to live an outdoor life his family stated today.
He was an active member of the local Masonic Blue Lodge and Royal Arch Mason where he enjoyed an active membership.
Masonic rites were held at the cemetery with the local Masons in charge, paying their last respects to a departed brother.
In addition to this widow, he is survived by his two daughters, Mrs Aubrey Smith and Mrs Alvin Johnson both of
Russellville; three brothers Walker, Russellville, R.D.,
from New Orleans and Gilbert of Sipsey, two sisters Mrs.
James Scharnagel, Spruce Pine and Mrs James I. Bledsoe, of Boaz; in addition to a number of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
