Of this union, 9 children were born: Hannah b. 1797, Nicholas b. 1798, Eleanor b. 1800, Ruth b.1802, Jesse b.1804, Caleb Robinson b.1806, Isaac Gray b.1810, Micajah Terrell b.1812 and Clark b.1814.
In a 1820 census in Salem, Champaign County, (after John's death) a Mary Williams is shown as head of the household, but not is any later censuses.
Then, Champaign County marriage records show a Mary Williams and a John Williams married on Jan 23 1823.
An 1840 census for Rush Creek, Champaign County shows a John Williams with matching age ranges for John and Mary.
An 1850 census for Rush Creek, Champaign County show John and Mary Williams, both born in North Carolina living in Rush Creek, Champaign County. Mary's son Clark from first marriage is living next to them plus 3 other sons - Isaac, Jesse and Micajah (M.T.)- living within the same township. This is the last time they appear in census records.
The grave marker dates for Mary matches the Quaker records for the Mary Robinson who married John Williams, son of Jesse and Eleanor Williams.
The grave marker dates for the John Williams in the same cemetery almost matches the birth date (it's off by exactly one year, which could easily be an error by the engraver) of the Quaker records for John, son of Richard and Prudence Williams.
Although this is not a certainty, I feel that this Mary married twice, to two John Williams. And if both John's parentages are correct, the first husband was the nephew of the 2nd husband!
