He was born Sept. 15, 1925, in Lodi, Miss., and lived in the Lorain area since 1963.

Allen was a World War II veteran, serving as a First Class Seaman in the Navy.

He retired from Ford Motor Co., where he worked at the Lorain Assembly Plant for three and a half years.

He was a member of Second Baptist Church, Lorain, where he was an associate minister and Sunday school teacher. He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 425.

Survivors include his sons Jerry of Dayton, Dennis of Louisville, Ky., and Gregg of Akron; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; his mother, Willie Mae Hudson of Lodi, Miss.; and uncle, David Hudson of New York. He was preceded in death by his wife, Daisy Mae; father, Roy Allen; and son, Gene R.

Friends may call Tuesday 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home, 27th and Broadway, Lorain. Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Second Baptist Church, 300 W. 13th St., Lorain, with the Rev. Loversier Lewis, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
