Born July 4, 1892, Spanish Fork, to John and Mary Etta Seddon Burt Jr. Married John D. Tensmeyer, Nov. 20, 1919, Salt Lake City, later solemnized Salt Lake LDS Temple. Spent her young life in Spanish Fork and Palmyra Schools. Moved to Salt Lake City when she was 16 to further her education at the Siebolo Comptometer School where she eventually taught Employee, Intermountain Electric Co., leaving in 1918 to work for Union Pacific Railroad in Pocatello, Idaho. She met Mr. Tensmeyer there after he returned from military service in World War I. They lived in Pocatello until September, 1943, with the exception of 1930-31, when they lived in Salt Lake City. They have lived in the Ensign Ward area since 1943. Lifelong member, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in all auxiliary organizations in many capacities. Active in genealogical research and teaching as an adult. Salt Lake ordinance worker from 1950-60, being released because of a severe heart attack. Member, Deseret Rose Camp, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, in Pocatello and the Ensign DUP Camp in Salt Lake city. Talented seamstress, enjoying handiwork, especially crocheting. She wrote poetry having just finished a tribute to womanhood for the Nauvoo Monument memorabilia. In her eighties she collaborated with her granddaughter, Lisa Tensmeyer, producing a hymn honoring the pioneers.
