Services Held For H. L. Osborn
Funeral services for Harve L. Osborn, 86, of Mercer, who died last Thursday [25 April 1957] in a Kirksville hospital, were held Sunday afternoon [25 April 1957] at the Mercer Baptist church and were conducted by the Rev. Roy Donelson. Burial was in the Middlepoint Cemetery.
Mr. Osborn, a son of Andrew and Charlotte M. Osborn, was born Aug. 26, 1870, in Illinois. He came with his parents to a farm near Mercer when he was a child. He was married Dec. 24, 1895, to Minnie Bell Bloom, who died several years ago. He had spent most of his life near Mercer. He was a member of the Baptist church.
Surviving are five sons, Walter Osborn, of the home; Arthur Osborn, of Phoenix, Ariz.; Roy Osborn, of Sterling, Colo; Andrew Osborn of Davenport, Ia., and Russell Osborn of Oakland, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Elma Ragan, of Mercer; three brothers, Alvernis Osborn of Osgood; Walter Osborn and Irvin Osborn of Powersville; 32 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
