Leo Lewis Goulet October 15, 1914 - December 24, 2009

LEO LEWIS GOULET, 95, Lancaster Road, died, Thursday, December 24, 2009 at the VA Medical Center in White River Junction, VT after a brief illness.

Born in Island Pond, Vermont one of eleven children of Joseph L. and Mary L. (Morrison) Goulet, he was a resident of Groveton most of his life.

Leo was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during WWII as a motorcycle military policeman. Before entering the military he drove pulp trucks and after the service he worked as a Dairy Forman until retirement. Leo loved gardening, being outdoors and his family. He enjoyed splitting wood, hunting and tinkering on cars.

He is survived by his children Irene Ladd and husband David of Leesburg, FL and Melvin Village, NH; Louis Goulet and wife Cheryl of Merrimack, NH and Maidstone, VT; Mary Reynolds and husband Bill of Groveton, NH and Leesburg, FL; David Goulet and wife Ann of Stark; Helen Croteau and husband Doug of Temple, NH; Lori Frizzell of Nashua, NH and Fred Goulet of Groveton, NH along with fourteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by four siblings George Pete Goulet; Betty Lewis; Rita Crawford and Theresa Fogg all of Groveton and numerous nieces and nephews. Leo is predeceased by his parents and six siblings Regina Goulet; Yvonne Dailey; Mary Platt; Charlie Goulet; Maurice Goulet; and Tim Goulet.

Memorial calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 from 2-5 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday December 31, 2009 at 2:00 pm at St. Francis Xavier Church with Fr. Daniel Deveau, pastor officiating. Inurnment will be in the spring in the St. Francis Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be to either the St. Marguerite dYouville Parish; PO Box 247; Groveton, NH 03582 or the Groveton Ambulance Corp.; C/O Sandra Mason; 7 Arlington Ave.; Groveton, NH 03582.
