Bonnell Wildes, age 91, of Alma passed away Thursday, December 9, 2010 at her residence after an extended illness. She was a native of Bacon County and daughter of the late John Silas Wheeler and Abbey Cannon Wheeler. Her husband, Homer Wildes, an infant daughter, two brothers, Rev. Cecil Wheeler and Rev. Freddie Wheeler and a sister, Frieda Wheeler Yawn preceded Bonnell in death. She was a member of Campground Methodist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Martha J. Wildes of Waycross, two grandchildren, Malinda King (Walter) of East Bend, NC and Malissa Perritt Kirsten of Jacksonville Beach, FL, two great grandchildren Mary Abbigale King and Wildes Abram King of East Bend, NC; also several nieces and nephews survive.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 12th at 2:00 PM at Campground Methodist Church with Rev. H. L. Pharr and Rev. James Burgess officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Lawn Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Saturday evening between the hours of 6 and 8 PM.
Active pallbearers will be; Ray Wheeler, Larry Wheeler, Albert Wildes, Ronald Wildes, Pat Tanner, Bubba Simmons, Terry Lancaster. Honorary pallbearers will be; Health Department Home Care, Care givers, Jeanette Cothern, Alzada Taylor, Kathy T. Lee, Severa Jones, Carol Newberry and all others in attendance.
