Funeral services for Jack Odell Childers, 75, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, 2010, at Tapp Funeral Home.

Interment will follow at Sunny Point Cemetery with Eddie Cash, Larry Cash, Johnny Cook and Ricky Bunch serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Jack Odell Childers passed away on Wednesday morning, Dec. 15, 2010, at Doctors Hospital in Dallas.

He was born the son of Armon and Annie Boatwright Childers.

He married Barbara Hancock on Aug. 18, 1989, in Rockwall. She survives.

Mr. Childers was a retired truck driver for Central Freight. He was a member of the Baptist faith.

Other survivors include three daughters, Donna Merciers of Combine, Beth Stevenson of Greenville and Crystal Posey of Seagoville; two sons, Jimmy Childers of Waxahachie and Jackie Childers of Ben Wheeler; one sister, Merle Bunch of Pottsboro; grandchildren, Simon Merciers, Jacob Allen, Tyler Allen, Alisa Childers, Travis Posey, Trevor Posey, Summer Posey, Chloe Childers, Chrissy Childers, Kim Childers, Kevin Childers and Justin Childers; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, David Jack and Micheal Scott Childers; two sisters, Thelma Angle and Wanda Smith; and three brothers, Floyd Childers, Marvin Childers and Arville Childers.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
