Fannie Ermin SKAGGS Obit 1968
Mrs. Fannie Ermin Skaggs, 83, daughter of the late Mr. Ishman [Isham] Thompson and Mrs. Marier Jane Warren Thompson, was born in Green County March 12, 1885 and died at 11:20 p.m., Sunday, July 21, 1968 at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Charlie Durrett of Mt. Sherman. She was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Separate Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons and five daughters: Mrs. Charlie Durrett, Mt. Sherman; Mrs. Emmett Bell, Mrs. William Vaughn and Mrs. Arvin Hall, all of Summersville; Mrs. Earl DeSpain, Indianapolis, Ind.; Robert Skaggs, Summersville and Jessie Skaggs, Indianapolis, Ind. Mrs. Skaggs is also survived by two brothers: Mr. Ben Thompson, Summersville and Mr. Bruce Thompson, California; 17 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 24, 1968 at the Liberty Baptist Church at Creal with burial in the Bell cemetery. Rev. Milton Judd and Rev. Clarence Walters officiated. Pallbearers were Kenneth Thompson, Larry Thompson, Herbert Skaggs, Edward Skaggs, Hoyett Skaggs and Garnett Bell.
