Raymond Sidney "Dock" Pitts, 93, beloved husband, father and grandfather of the Goshen community went to be with his Lord, May 4, 2001, at his home.
He was born Jan. 7, 1908, in the Goshen community, the son of Sidney L. and Laura Bell Pitts. He lived in the Goshen community most of his life. He was a farmer and enjoyed raising cattle, poultry and horses, and he enjoyed gardening. He was affiliated with the Nazarene Church for more than 70 years. He and his wife of 76 years enjoyed gospel music and sang with several groups over the years.
He was preceded in death by a son, Lester L. Pitts, in September 2000.
Survivors include his loving wife, Ethel Johnson Pitts of the home, whom he married May 3, 1925; two sons, Dewey Pitts and wife Sylvia of Fayetteville and Don Pitts and wife Patty of Fayetteville; one brother, Clyde Tom Pitts of Brea, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Linda Jewett and husband Dean of Fayetteville, Debbie Martens and Jerry of Farmington, Kellie Lavy and husband Trevor of Fayetteville, Lisa Pitts of Austin, Texas, Donnie Pitts and wife Isabelle of Springdale, Darrin Pitts and wife Marci of Shreveport, La., and Andrew Pitts of Fayetteville; 18 great-grandchildren, Becke Stuart and husband Eric of Conway, Devon Martens and wife Angel of Tallahassee, Fla., Kiley Martens, Kirby Martens and Amelia Martens, all of Farmington, Taresa Pliler and Sydni Jewett of Fayetteville, Brittany Lavy, Hannah Lavy, Emma Lavy, Olivia Lavy and Anna Grace Lavy, all of Fayetteville, Trey Pitts, Louis Pitts, Elizabeth Pitts and Allie Pitts, all of Springdale and Madison Pitts and Avery Pitts, both of Shreveport, La.; two great-great-grandchildren, Cade Stuart of Conway and Joshua Martens of Florida.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, at the Goshen Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. H.D. McCarty will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Moore's Chapel of Fayetteville.

Pallbearers will be Charles Langham, Marion Johnson, Carl Johnson, Glen Ledford, Omer Guinn and Jim Watson. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Bell, Jerry Watson, Jim Fullerton, C.L. Guinn, Herman Sharp and Sam Owens.
