Before retiring, he was an architect and worked with Consumers Power Co., where he had various construction and management positions.
He served in the Navy during the Korean War.
He was a deacon and elder in the Reformed Church of America and Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Jean; daughter, Jeanine of Jenison, Mich.; sons, William of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Robert of Holland, Mich; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
SERVICES: A memorial service will be at 1p Dec. 22 at First Presbyterian Church in Jackson. Visitation will be from 11:30a-1p at the church.
