Anna A. Koroschetz, 97, of Sheboygan, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2010, at Meadowview Manor in Sheboygan.
Anna was born May 20, 1913 in Aurora, MN to the late John and Antonia (Kermouner) Matichich.
In July of 1926 her family moved to the Sheboygan area. She attended Longfellow school.
On April 18, 1936 she married Frank M. Koroschetz Sr., he preceded her in death November 26, 1985.
Anna was employed by Sheboygan Chair Co., R-Way Furniture, and the Sheboygan Public School System.
She was a lifelong of Ss Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church.
Anna was well known for founding, along with her family, the Jolly Slovenians in April of 1968. She played the Stumpf-Fiddle. Since that time they became well known throughout Sheboygan County and even other states for their unique Slovenian sound. She also ran Slovenian dances at the Sheboygan Falls Municipal Building beginning in 1974 for many years. She then organized the Smiling Slovenian Breakfast Club in 1976. She spent many years entertaining the Sheboygan and Milwaukee area nursing homes.
Survivors include her son ,Frank J. Koroschetz of Sheboygan; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Matichich, and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her son Joseph "Joey" Koroschetz; a daughter, Rose Ann,
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Anna on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Ss Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. The Reverend Richard Cerpich will be the Celebrant.
