"William Dunning Sewall was born on 16 January 1797 in Bath, Maine. He was the son of Joseph Sewall and Lydia Marsh. William Dunning Sewall married Rachel Allen Trufant, daughter of William Trufant, on 1 January 1821 in Bath, Maine.
"inherited considerable landed estate from his grandfather; engaged in shipbuilding; was a member of the Senate from Lincoln in 1841 & 1842 and was once a member of the congregational church in Bath but became a Swenborgian."
William Dunning Sewall died on 30 January 1877 at the age of 80 and is buried in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bath, Maine."
