Arthur M. Bolten, 79, of Independence, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at St. Joseph Medical Center.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, December 20, 2010 at the McGilley & Sheil Funeral Home with burial at the Leavenworth National Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the chapel.

Arthur was born April 28, 1931 in Jefferson City, MO. He was a graduate of Central High School where he played varsity baseball and also played on the American Legion Baseball Team and advanced to the Minor A League level. He was a United States Navy veteran and served during the Korean Conflict. He was employed as a heat and frost insulator and was a 60 year member of Local # 27 Asbestos Workers, Heat and Frost Insulators.

Arthur is survived by five children, Matthew W. Bolten, Mike Bolten(Kim), Cindy Wells(John), Robin Rife, and Michelle Cox. Two brothers, Ray Bolten(Connie) and Harvey Bolten(Karen). Thirteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
