Laura Edith Bacon, 99, of Paragould died Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould.

Mrs. Bacon was born July 29, 1911, in Kittle. She was a homemaker and of the Methodist faith.

Laura loved her garden. Her kitchen table was the favorite gathering place for family and friends alike. She will be remembered for her home cooking, her generosity, a wonderful sense of humor and her handmade quilts.

Survivors include two sons, Jim Bacon of Piggott and Bill and his wife Loretta Bacon of Hot Springs; and two daughters, Carolyn and her husband Tom Watson of Paragould and Melba and her husband Montie Campbell of Lakeland, Fla. She was Granny to 14 grandchildren and more than 30 great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 70 years, Albert Bacon; one son, Charles Bacon; and 14 brothers and sisters.

Burial was in Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
