Services for Mittie Lee Howard, 88, 2506 W. Missouri St., are scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday in the West Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. George Murphy of Hillcrest Church of God officiating. Burial is to follow in Carlsbad Cemetery.
Mrs. Howard died today (July 29, 1993) at Lakeview Christian Home North Gate Unit. She was born Jan. 6, 1905, in Reeves County, Texas, and was raised in Davis, Okla., before moving to Carlsbad in 1934. She married Cecil Howard in 1964 in Fresno, Calif., and the couple lived in California for 12 years before returning to Carlsbad. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by four nephews, Richard, Dudley and Jack Beauford, all of Carlsbad, and Harold Beauford of Santa Rosa, N.M.; and three nieces, Ethel Smith and Maxine Mullikin of Santa Rosa and Florence Mitchell of Carlsbad.
