Donald Ray Carrico, 5309 Colorado 348, Olathe, died Monday in the emergency room at Montrose Memorial Hospital of an apparent heart attack. He was 67.
He was a retired farmer and an Olathe-Delta resident since 1920. He was born Feb 4 1918, at Comers Rock. VA.(Incorrect birth place. his Birth Cert says that he was born in Elk Creek, Grayson, VA)His family moved to Delta in 1920 and to California Mesa in 1930, where he attended schools.
He married Willa A. Dickerson April 29, 1939, in Grand Junction. She survives.
Mr. Carrico belonged to the First Baptist Church of Olathe. He enjoyed his family and fishing.
Other survivors include two daughters, Donna Lewis of Grand Junction and Beverly Lewis of Olathe; one son, Bill Carrico of Grand Junction; one brother, Berlan of Olathe; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the First Baptist Church of Olathe with the Rev. Keith Van Arsdole officiating. Burial will be in the Olathe Cemetery.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Olathe, P.O. Box 492, Olathe 81425.
