Grace C. Spicer

Grace C. Spicer, 93, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2001, at The Waters in Martinsville. She was a former resident of Morgantown.

She was born Oct. 25, 1907, in Morgan County. Her parents were Wiley L. and Zora (Whitaker) Burns. She married Earl C. Spicer on Dec. 23, 1931, in Martinsville. He preceded her in death Aug. 5, 1983. Survivors include three nieces, Pat Burns and Tori Hamilton, both of Morgantown, and Joan Renard of Indianapolis; and a nephew, Todd Burns of Morgantown. She was preceded in death by one brother, Harry J. Burns; two sisters, Carrol Fleenor and Esther Ritter; and a nephew, John Burns.

She was a homemaker and had worked at the Morgantown Health Care Inn, Rider Canning Factory and Morgan Canning Factory.

She was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church.

The Rev. Burt Brock will conduct a graveside service at 3:30 p.m. today at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
