Services for Marcus Bernard Douglass, 70, Rt. 1, Converse, were at 10:30 a.m. today at the Amboy Friends Church. The Rev. Kenneth Hinshaw and the Rev. Kenneth Pickering officiated with burial in Parklawn Cemetery near Amboy. Laird Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Douglass died Sunday, May 28, 1978, at 7:30 a.m. at Parkview Hospital in fort Wayne, after a brief illness.
Born in Miami County June 20, 1907, he was the son of Elbert and Nora Allen Douglass. He was married to Glennis Powell April 30, 1931, and she survives.
He was a prominent farmer in the Amboy area, a birthright member of the Amboy Friends Church, a member of Miami County Farm Bureau, Converse Masonic Lodge, Order of Eastern Star, Scottish Rite and the Converse Lions Club.
Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Nancy, wife of Craig Boyer of Rt. 1, Converse; three grandchildren; a brother, Eldon, and a sister, Dorothy Johnson, both of Greentown.
