Pamela Kay Hutchinson Burson was the daughter of Howard Hutchinson and Elaine Ragsdale Hutchinson. She moved with her parents to Columbia when she was in the second grade.

A 1966 graduate of Sonora Union High School, Pamela spent her teenage years as a member of the Rainbow Girls where she received the Grand Cross of Honors.

On July 25, 1967, she married Eugene E. Burson in Tuolumne County. The couple later divorced.

She lived in Stockton for her last 14 years. While there she joined a team that raised over $35,000 for the Special Olympics. "The thing she did best was to love," said her fiance, Barre Stadtner of Stockton, who worked with her raising money.

Pam was a homemaker who occasionally worked as a telephone operator. She participated in the sport of bowling at the El Dorado Bowl in Stockton.

Pam passed away at a Stockton hospital after a sudden illness at the age of 46. She was survived by her parents, her fiance, three daughters and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on a Thursday morning at the chapel of Wallace-Martin. Graveside services were held at the Columbia City Cemetery.

The family asked that remembrances be made to the Special Olympics of San Joaquin County, 802 East Flora, Stockton, CA 95202, the Epilepsy League, East Bay, 1615 Broadway, Suite 411, Oakland, 94612, or to a favorite charity.
