John White, aged 68, who for many years was a severe sufferer from a prostrated illness, died at the residence of his son, Wm. White, on Sunday, Oct. 16. He resided on the farm where he died since early manhood, and was the father of four children, two of whom survive him, namely, William White, of this place, and Mrs. James Catlin, of Wethersfield Springs. His wife has been dead several years. The deceased in life was a member of the Free Will Baptist church and was an exemplary soldier of the cross, who bore his indescribable sufferings with remarkable christian fortitude and resignation. The funeral, which was largely attended, occurred at Johnsonburg, Rev. G. W. Harvey of the M.E. church officiating.
