Daughter of Job Hoar (1805-1880) and Sarah Irwin Hoar (1812-1906). Was a Quaker born in Pa,in Ohio in 1850, Married William T. Paradee 11 June 1862 in Collinsville, IL. Lived in Madison Co. in 1870, 1880-1910 was in Sharon, Fayette Co. Moved to Decatur in 1920. Had five daughters: Mary Olive Paradee, Edithe E Paradee, Addah M Paradee, Amie Grace M Paradee, and Bertha J Paradee. Also raised her niece by marriage, Cora Paradee.

OBITUARY
Mrs. Margaret A. Paradee, 91, died Saturday at 8 p.m. at the family home, 337 West Marietta. Death was caused from infirmities of old age. The body was removed to the Dawson & Wikoff chapel, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral services will be in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Mattes in Vandalia, Monday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in South Hill cemetery.
Mrs. Paradee was born of Quaker parents in Lancaster, Pa., December 30, 1842 and came to Illinois with her parents in 1855, to make their home on a farm near Vandalia. She was married to William T. Paradee in Collinsville, Ill., in 1863. The family lived in Vandalia until 17 yeas when they moved to Decatur. Mr. Paradee died in 1915.
Mrs. Paradee was a member of the First Methodist church of Decatur. She leaves the following children; Mrs. Mary Mattes, Vandalia, Mrs. Edith Davison, Bloomington, Misses Addah, Grace and Bertha Paradee of Decatur. Three grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive. Decatur Review, 26 March 1933.
