He was born October 22, 1900, in Mapleton, to James Peter and Mary Caroline Andersen Larsen. He married Jessie Wing December 17, 1919, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. she passed away January 9, 1959. He married Marjorie Houtz on April 28, 1960, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He is survived by his wife of Mapleton, three sons and two daughters. Harold (Eloise) Larsen of Orem; Norma (Ira) Hillyard of Pocatello, Idaho; Ferrus (Beth) Larsen of Mapleton; Paul (Lorraine) Larsen, serving an LDS mission in Tennessee; Melba Jean Brinkerhoff of Murray, Utah; daughter-in-law, Beth McCabe, of Orem; one sister, Ivy Mitchell of Salt Lake City; 54 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren.

Burial was June 14, 1994.
