Peggy G. "Lay" Hamm, 74, a former teacher in the Klamath Falls City and Klamath County school district, died Thursday, March 11, 1993 in Keno.

Mr. Hamm was born in Ashland to Paul and Dora Guiley. She was a fourth generation Oregonian from a pioneer family.

She graduated from Southern Oregon College (now Southern Oregon State College), with a bachelors' degree in education.

She married Leo Bernard Hamm in 1939 in Medford.

Mrs. Hamm taught elementary school in Ashland before moving to Klamath Falls. She taught in both area districts and was a librarian for the Keno and Klamath Falls libraries. She was also a Keno carrier for the Herald and News from 1982 to 1992.

Cremation was held. Entombment Mountain View Masoleum.

Mrs. Hamm's hobbies included gun collecting, classic automobiles, music and dancing. She had an avid interest in Shakespeare and was a member of the Oregon State Sheriff's Association and the Corvair Scoiety of America.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Dorilee and Michael Eastman, Ashland; sons and daughter-in-law, Bernard and Margaret, Reno, NV, and Paul and Corine, Keno; brother, Maxwell Guiley, Medford; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
