John Louis Denton Sr., age 71, of Florence, passed away June 29, 2007, at ECM Hospital, with the family at his side, after an extended illness. Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Monday, July 2, 2007, at Florence Boulevard Church of Christ, with the funeral service following at 3 p.m. in the church. Officiating at the service will be Sonny Owens. Burial will be in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens with Chris Kemp officiating. Mr. Denton was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Alice Denton; granddaughter, Shana Leigh Faulkner; and grandson, Edward Cleo Denton. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Denton; sons, John Denton Jr., Gil Denton and wife, Kathy Jo, all of Florence; daughter, Cathy Lynn and husband, Tim, of Ohio; grandchildren, Wesley Denton, Miranda Brymer and husband, Charles, Anna Thornton and husband, Landon, Candace Denton and Donnie Denton; a brother, Clayton Denton, of New Hampshire; sisters, Rose Carpenter, of Florence, and Elsie Lyons, of Texas; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements are by Greenview Funeral Home.
