JOHN CONNER
John Conner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Conner, was born in Ohio on June 29, 1858, and departed this life at his home in Chariton, Iowa, on Sunday morning, April 16, 1933, at the age of 74 years, 9 months and 17 days.
On December 3, 1879, he was married to Laura Belle Morris. To this union were born six children, two of whom preceded him in death.
Those left to mourn their loss are his wife and four children, William H. and Ernest Earl Conner, Mrs. Floy Goater and Mrs. Goldie Frazier, all of Chariton; one brother, Jefferson Conner, of Promise City, Iowa; also 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a host of friends. Four brothers preceded him in death.
Mr. Conner accepted Jesus Christ as his Saviour at the age of 25 years and united with the Baptist church at Promise City. He was a faithful and loving husband and father, a true neighbor and will be missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock at the Beardsley Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Harry Secor, of the Baptist church, and burial took place in the Chariton cemetery.
