SHIPLEY MAN DIED SUNDAY EVENING
Funeral of R. S. Arnold will be held at home Tuesday afternoon:
R.S. Arnold familiarly known as "Dad" Arnold of Shipley is dead.
Robert S. Arnold, 78, longtime resident of the Shipley neighborhood, died at his home there Sunday forenoon from an acute heart attack. He had been up and around as well as usual during the day and the death came as a severe shock to the little community, where he was so well known.
Funeral services will be held at the home Tuesday afternoon at 2:30, after which the body will be brought to Nevada and laid to rest in the Nevada cemetery by the side of his wife who passed away a few years ago.
The funeral service will be preached by the Rev. C. E. Lookingbill of this city.
Mr. Arnold was a native of Kentucky, but he had lived in the Shipley neighborhood and conducted the village store there for many years. He was born February 24, 1849,
He leaves one son, Sam P. Arnold with whom he made his home.
He was well and most favorably known in the community and his death will be mourned by his neighbors and friends, as well as the immediate members of his family.
