Morgan M. Crawford, 91, of Lima, died at 5:15 a.m., Fri., Aug. 6, 2004 at Lost Creek Care Center.

He was born Oct. 4, 1913 in Lima to Warren Guy and Clara Ingmire Crawford. He married Gladys Mary Meeker on May 8, 1930 and she preceded him in death Nov. 24, 1993.


Survivors include one son, Howard Dale (Virginia) Crawford of Lima; one sister, Beatrice Shoup of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; and two grandsons and their children, Randy (Mary) Crawford of Cleveland and their children, Michael and Marianne Crawford and Jessica, Angela and Ashley Dansic; and Richard (Jane) Crawford of Napoleon and their children, Joseph and Daniel of Lima and Jeffery and Renee of North Carolina; and three great-grandchildren, Bryan and Kelsie Hutchinson of North Carolina and Ashley Crawford in Lima.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Warren Guy Crawford Jr. and three sisters, Lucy Laughbaum, Evelyn Brockert and an infant sister who died at birth.

Mr. Crawford retired from the Ford Motor Co. Lima Engine Plant where he had been a machinist. He was the first president of the UAW Local and was instrumental in starting the Ford Motor Credit Union. He attended Forest Park Methodist Church.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bayliff and Son Funeral Home, Cridersville with the Rev. Larry Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Lima.



The family will receive freinds from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be sent to Forest Park United Methodist Church, 315 S. Collins, Lima.
