Wier Tribble, 88, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010. Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday in Arlington Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Arlington Funeral Home. Wier Tribble, one of 11 children, was born May 2, 1922, in Blum to Morris and Hettie Bean Tribble. He was raised in Cleburne and married Stella Ruth Harris on June 18, 1942. Wier, a Navy veteran of World War II, served in Newport News, R.I., as an aircraft mechanic. Upon release from military service, he and Stella settled in Cleburne until moving to Arlington in 1963. His professional life was spent as a typesetter with the Fort Worth Press and the Star-Telegram for 41 years. Along with traveling the U.S. with his family and friends, Wier's greatest joy was watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up. Survivors: Wife of 68 years, Stella Tribble; sons, Ron Tribble and wife, Sandy, and Rod Tribble and wife, Dorothy; grandchildren, Scott Tribble, Dr. Marc Tribble of Dallas, Sean Tribble of New York City, David Flood (Charlotte) of North Richland Hills and Keri Murphy (Brian); great-grandchildren, Dakota Flood, Pamela Boaldin, Molly Murphy and Greyson Murphy; sister, Carol Driskill (Doyle); sister-in-law, Diane Tribble of Cleburne; nephew, Ricky Tribble (Lela) of Cleburne; and numerous other nephews and nieces.
