Mrs. Vivian Meyers, 77, of Harrisonburg, died at 4:55 a.m. Sunday, February 1, 1987, at the Catahoula Parish Hospital in Jonesville. Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Meyers Bend Pentecostal Churchwith Revs. Bill Cotten and M.O. Martin, officiating. Burial followed at Harrisonburg Cemetery with arrangements by Hixson Brothers Inc. of Jena.
Survivors include a son, E.C. Meyers Jr. of Harrisonburg; two daughters, Getice Laffoon of West Monroe and Evelyn Stringer of Eunice; two brothers, James Slaughter of Pollock and Earl Slaughter of Harrisonburg; a sister,Hazel Carmichel of Dallas, Texas; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Charles Stringer, Clark Freeman, John Meyers, Zock Meyers, John Stutson and Billy Floyd.

She was named Lucy Vivian after her grandmother Martha Lucy Whatley LaCroix. She always went by Vivian. We grandchildren would call her Lucy as a joke. She preferred Vivian.
