Obit-Gonzales Inquirer Jan. 23, 1919. Miss Ann Sue Kitchen Dead

A message was received here this afternoon from Miss Ella Kitchen conveying the sad news of the death of her sister, Miss Annie Sue Kitchen which occurred at El Paso this morning at 5:30 o'clock following flu-pneumonia and meningitis.

The remains will be brought here for burial, leaving in Gonzales Saturday morning when the funeral will probably be held. Interment will be made in the City Cemetery.

Surviving Miss Kitchen are three sisters Miss Ella Kitchen, of San Antonio, Mrs. R. L. Mahan of Leesville and Mrs. Bernard Sheeran of Annarose, Live Oak County, and two brothers, Frank Kitchen of San Marcos and Curtis Kitchen of Corpus Christi.

Miss Kitchen was born and reared here, but left here some time ago, having been connected with the Wolfe and Marx Company of San Antonio or several years. Later she went out to California, accepting a position with one of the large department stores at Los Angeles and it was only a little over a year ago that she resigned to accept a similar position with an El Paso firm.

She was highly esteemed here in her girlhood home where she had hosts of friends who will be deeply grieved to learn of her untimely death in the prime of her splendid young women hood.

The bereaved sisters and brothers will have the sincere sympathy of the community in their sorrow.
