The daughter of Robert Sherratt and Isobel Spring. She was born at Birse, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

Christiana married James Cattanach on 15 Aug 1815 at Birse, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. They had a total of nine children named Archibald E., Frances, James, John, Robert Saberary, Andrew, Isabella B., George and David.

Christian died at Nichol Township of Jaundice for about twelve days and Malignant disease of the Liver.

In lower Nichol, on the 15th inst., Christina Sheratt, widow of the late James Cattanach, Sr., of Nichol, aged 87 years. Deceased was a native of the parish of Birse, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. She and her husband and family were among the earliest pioneers, having located in Nichol over fifty years ago. She was a sister to Major A. F. Sheratt of Fergus and mother of the late James Cattanach of this village. She was in all respects a very fine woman, and deservedly held in high esteem among her acquaintances.
