On November 17, 2010 the angels came and took Novalene Adams Dowe home to be with her Heavenly Father, at the age of 93. She was born to Thomas Kelly Adams and Mary Hyde Adams on August 20, 1917 in Richland Springs, Texas.

Novalene and her late husband Jim Dowe lived many years in Falfurrias, Texas, where he was Post Master and she was an elementary school teacher. After their retirement they went on many mission trips in Mexico and one in Australia.

After Jim's passing in 1996, Novalene continued working at Sunset Mission in Brownwood. She was also a volunteer at the Brownwood Regional Hospital for many years. She never met a stranger and she possessed a strong sense of humor. She loved teaching Sunday School and playing the organ and piano.

She is survived by three of her four sons: Jim Dowe and wife Dee Dee, Kelly Dowe and wife Lucie, Fred Dowe and wife Celina, and Kathleen Dowe who survives Mike Dowe. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Davis-Morris Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, November 19. Burial will be in the Richland Springs Cemetery at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 20 with the celebration of her life to follow at First Baptist Church, Brownwood, Texas at 2:00 pm, services under the direction of Davis Morris Funeral Home.
