Presley Eugene Sharp - POOLER - Presley Eugene Sharp, 85, of Pooler, Ga, passed away December 14, 2010 at St. Joseph's Hospital after a short illness. Born in New Market, Ala, he was the son of the late Presley Leon Sharp and the late Hassie Honea Sharp. Mr. Sharp was a longtime member of the Holy Church of God, in Savannah, Ga. He retired from Savannah Sugar Refinery (Imperial Sugar) as a foreman having worked there since 1947. He also served in the U. S. Army during WW II. Mr. Sharp was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and devoted his life to the Lord and his family. He was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Mary Lee Youngblood Sharp; son, Larry Gene Sharp; step- mother, Ora Hudson Sharp; siblings, Leslie Sharp, Clayton Sharp, Donald Sharp, Geneva Bragg, Joanne Sharp, and Joyce Adcock. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Lockamy Sharp; two daughters, LaTrelle Rogers (Lloyd) of Rincon; Faye Patrick (Ron), of Savannah; son, Michael Sharp (Sue), of Guyton; daughter- in-law, Sharan Sharp (Larry), of Haymarket, VA; three sisters, Ruby Brock (Gene), of Charlotte, NC; Katharine Petersen (Bob), of St. Paul, MN; and Eunice Shelton (Jerry) of Jamestown, NC; 8 grandchildren, and 10 great- grandchildren, all who loved him dearly. He is also survived by 4 stepchildren, Wendy McFatter, Jack Lawson Lockamy, Clay Lockamy, David Lockamy (deceased), 8 step-grandchildren, and 4 step great-grandchildren. Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Fairhaven Funeral Home, Garden City Chapel. Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Friday at the Holy Church of God with Rev. Ryan Ralston, officiating. Mr. Sharp will be taken to the church at 9 a.m. Friday to lie in state. Interment will follow in Hillcrest West Cemetery, with Military Honors provided by the U.S. Army Fairhaven Funeral Home & Crematory 2794 W US Highway 80 Garden City, Ga 31408 912-964-2862.
