Burwell Pope Hill is the son of Wylie Hill and Martha Pope-Hill. Burwell married Elizabeth Clark Render on 15 Apr 1824 @ James Render plantation mansion in Wilkes Co., Ga. Burwell and Elizabeth "Lizzie" had two children. David Pope Hill and Mary Elizabeth Hill. Both died of fever in winter of 1830. They also had a stillborn baby in 1825. They are all buried in the Hill family cememtery. Some graves unmarked. He married Martha Pope Johnson on 18 Nov 1829 and had two children with her. Alexander (Frank) Franklin Hill and Martha Catherine(Kitty) Hill.
