Mr. Phillips died Tuesday, May 2, 2006, in Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
He was born March 8, 1933, in Putnam County to the late Ray and Velma Roberts Phillips.
Mr. Phillips was a retired line superintendent for Upper Cumberland Electric. He was a member of Bethany Methodist Church.
His family includes his wife, Gladys Winchester Phillips of Baxter; two sons and daughtersinlaw, Greg and Susie Phillips and Shawn and Christy Phillips, all of Baxter; two sisters and a brotherinlaw, Clara Alexander and Ruby and Nelson Stewart, all of Baxter; a sisterinlaw, Opal Phillips of Baxter; three grandchildren, Bear, Bailey and Madison Phillips, all of Baxter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bernon Phillips, and a sister, Gracie Phillips Brown.
