STONEWALL - Services for Maurice Doyle Adams, 69, are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Stonewall First Baptist Church, the Revs. Dennis Heath and Bob Hatcher will officiate. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.

Mr. Adams died Friday, Dec. 10, 2010, at an Ada hospital. He was born Aug. 1, 1941, in Porum, Okla., to Rufus Burl and Edna Stephens Adams. He attended Porum and Henryetta schools and graduated from Henryetta High School. He moved to this area in 1964 from the Porum-Henryetta area. He married Jeannie Wade Aug. 7, 1965. Mr. Adams worked in maintenance at Brockway Glass Company for 25 years and later was a maintenance worker for the Stonewall school system. He retired in August 2010 after 15 years of service. He was a member of the Stonewall Free Will Baptist Church where he served as deacon, a 45-year-member of Stonewall Bright Star Lodge 113 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, and had served in the U.S. Army from 1959 until 1964 during the Vietnam era.

Survivors include his wife, Jeannie Adams, of the home; a daughter, Melisa Madron and her husband Kenny, Stonewall; a son, Deano Adams, Stonewall; an aunt who reared him, Pauline Stephens, Warner; two grandchildren, Colton Madron and Keaton Adams; one brother, Bud Adams and his wife Sharon, Henryetta; and a sister, Alice Blackmon, Tulsa. He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Samantha Adams, a brother and sister-in-law, Cecil Adams and Lois Adams, and an uncle who reared him, Clayton Stephens. Bearers will be Randy Jennings, Daniel Jennings, Lewis Abbott, Roger Lancaster, Dewey McDonald and Richard Medcalf. Honorary bearers will be Floyd Gibson, L.D.
