Motion Picture Director, Producer. A legendary, Academy-Award winning motion picture writer, director, and producer of the 1920s through 1980s, he won Oscars for the classic films "The Lost Weekend" (1945), "Sunset Blvd." (1950), and "The Apartment" (1950). He also wrote and directed the comedy "Some Like It Hot," starring Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis, and Marilyn Monroe.
